The "De-Identification" Principle
To ensure maximum privacy, we strongly advise clinicians to use de-identified patient data (e.g., using initials "J.D." instead of full names, and omitting exact dates of birth or Medicare numbers) when running clinical reasoning queries. Do not input direct patient identifiers unless strictly necessary for local document generation.
1. Data Infrastructure & Sovereign Hosting
Aethelq AI infrastructure is securely hosted on Australian servers (DigitalOcean, Sydney region). All traffic is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols, and data at rest is protected behind strict firewall configurations to prevent unauthorized access.
2. Zero Data Retention for AI Training
We utilize enterprise-grade Large Language Model APIs (such as OpenAI/Google). Under our API agreements, your clinical inputs are explicitly excluded from being used to train baseline AI models. Data sent for inference is ephemeral and is securely discarded by the provider immediately after processing.
3. Local Browser Storage
To enhance security and minimize risk, Aethelq AI is designed as a stateless application. Your patient analysis history and referral drafts are stored locally in your own browser's LocalStorage. We do not maintain a centralized database of your patients' medical records or analysis queries.
4. Compliance Responsibility
While Aethelq AI implements rigorous security measures, the end-user (the clinician or clinical organization) acts as the Data Controller. You are ultimately responsible for ensuring that your use of this tool complies with your institutional policies, HIPAA, GDPR, or Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
5. Voice Dictation
If you use the microphone/dictation feature, your spoken audio is sent to Microsoft Azure AI Speech for transcription. Audio is processed only to generate a text transcript and is not stored by this application after transcription completes. The resulting text is treated as part of the clinical record like any manually typed entry.
